The obverse of this bronze medal depicts a male - Dr L Calmels. "Docteur L. Calmels" is embossed around the top of the medal that is signed R. Cochet.
The reverse of the medal depicts two buildings. Embossed around the top half of the medal are the words "La Ville de Paris au Docteur L. Calmels". The dates 1912 - 1937 are embossed across the middle section and in the bottom appear the words "25 Anniversaire de son mandate de conseiller municipal".
The medal commemorates Dr Calmels 25 years as an alderman.
The rim is stamped "BRONZE" with a triangular mark holding the initials J B separated by a sword.

Ludovic François Léon CALMELS (1871 - 1945) was a physician & politician. He was alderman of the 13th arrondissement of Paris (District de la Salpêtrière) from 1912 to 1944.

Received a diploma & medal at the 1954 Exposition Internationale de Madrid.
Designed coins : 100 Franc piece in 1954 ; Monaco 1Franc and 50cent pieces in 1960 &1965 respectively.
Designed medals for the Conseil de la Republique in 1946 and for the National assembly in 1951 & 1962.
